Overview
This session aims to equip healthcare providers, especially those working with vulnerable populations, with strategies to effectively increase immunization rates, addressing the challenges posed by misinformation and denial of scientific evidence. Vulnerable populations, including those with socioeconomic disadvantages, racial and ethnic minorities, and individuals with chronic health conditions, face significant barriers to immunization. The spread of misinformation and vaccine hesitancy further complicates efforts to achieve high vaccination coverage. This session will explore the current immunization landscape, provide recommended immunization schedules, review available treatments for potentially life-threatening vaccine-preventable illnesses, identify barriers specific to vulnerable populations, and propose actionable solutions.
