Here is a message from Joanne Leone, Executive Director of the BON:
Attached please find a flyer regarding upcoming webinars for nurses, employers, and associations concerning the Nurse Licensure Compact.
New Jersey has partially implemented the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), in that nurses who hold active, unencumbered, multi-state RN/LPN licenses issued by members of the NLC may practice in this state under their multi-state licenses as long as New Jersey is NOT their primary state of residence.
However, New Jersey is not yet issuing multi-state compact licenses as we await systems’ upgrades.
Nurses who hold multi-state Compact licenses who move to New Jersey will have to apply for a single state NJ license at this time.
We will alert the nursing community when we start accepting applications for New Jersey multi-state compact licenses.
