AN UPDATE RE: FPA Bill in the Senate S.1522:

As shared previously …

The Senate Health Committee unanimously approved the bill late last year and it moved to the Senate.

 The bill will not be scheduled on the Senate floor until there is enough support to pass it.

Senator Scutari is the sponsor and will determine the posting to schedule.

UPDATE from March 9th:

Senate Bill S1522: Removing Practice Restrictions for Advanced Practice Nurses

• The bill has 15 co-sponsors and another 6 senators have met with us and have said YES.
• 21 YES votes is the needed majority and now is the time for the bill to be scheduled for the floor to discuss.

(we still have the sister bill in the assembly – but that cannot go for vote in the Assembly Health Committee until we pass the senate floor)

TAKE ACTION:

Should you desire to encourage the posting/scheduling of the bill, our colleagues at the Society of Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses (SPAPN) have put together the below and we are sharing at the state level through FNAP as well.

We are looking to  flood Sen. Scutari's messages, so that he can schedule the bill.
